SENIOR CONSOLE ENGINEER
Smart Bomb Interactive is seeking a skilled and experienced game engine programmer with a proven track record of quality released games to lead up console support for a major title currently in development with a primary focus on graphics.
Responsibilities
- Assume the responsibilities of a Console Lead for a major game release
- Optimize and improve an existing game architecture across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with the Lead Programmer and Technology Director to plan and implement new features in our proprietary game engine and studio tools
- Work on a cross-platform code base to advance one or more areas of specialty, including graphics, audio and/or IO
Required Skills
- One or more published console title(s)
- 3+ years experience working on console game titles
- 2+ years working on the PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Experience in low-level programming especially in the area of graphics hardware and shader/vector programming
- Experience in the design and implementation of cutting edge graphics techniques
- Proficiency with C/C++ and OOP architecture design and implementation
- Solid foundation of advanced 3D math, Algebra and Trigonometry
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work within a schedule
- Self-motivated and have a strong work ethic
- Ability to quickly learn new hardware platforms
- Able to test and debug other Programmers’ code
- Disciplined self-starter with strong attention to detail
Desirable Skills
- Direct X experience
- A passion for playing and making games
- MFC Windows tools programming experience a bonus
- Any personal rendering demos a huge plus
